Multi-Disciplinary Team and Other Professionals

Our Pastoral Support Officer ensures that professionals work collaboratively to ensure that your child is kept at the heart of what we do. Meetings are held to ensure that your voice is heard and for professionals to share what each service is doing.

We have a children’s nursing team on site providing specialist nursing care and support for our pupils’ with complex health needs, life limiting conditions and life threatening illnesses.

We have access to a community Speech and Language Team who are based on site who review and support the communication needs of our pupils. They develop and deliver individualised therapy programs to meet their specific communication needs.

The community Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy (OT) teams visit the school on a weekly basis to assesses, treat, give advice, support and introduce personal therapy programs to be delivered by staff members.

We have a wider team of professionals who regularly attend our school who offer; tailored support, specialised equipment and expert knowledge to enable our pupils to participate in their home life, education and community as independently as possible. Many of the services on offer are available for self-referral via your GP or the school nursing team.

We have additional therapy on offer which is delivered by Lucinda Warren, Specialist Occupational Therapist who works at Fox Wood Monday to Friday spending one day in College. Lucinda develops individualised programmes, including sensory diets to help with sensory processing, self-regulation, motor skills, and activities of daily living.

Pupils are able to access Creativity Counts and Wellness activities at lunch time to promote their wellbeing, this is run by school staff and pupils enjoy expressing themselves through art or even relaxing through yoga.
