Gold Class

"GOLD, always believe in your soul..."

              Welcome to Gold Class!

We are a fun and happy class made up of 7 inquisitive young adults, who love taking on new challenges and learn best through practical activities. We like to promote independence and provide lots of opportunity to explore communication skills. Our favourite lessons are Sensory Kingdom, science and cooking. This year we will continue to develop our life skills through both class based learning and going out into our local community.

Our class teacher is Mel and our teaching assistants are Debbie, Steve, Belinda (Monday to Wednesday) and Kirsty (Thursday to Friday) We are very excited to see what this year brings and to make happy memories with our friends.

School reading books will be sent home weekly and changed on a Friday but feel free to read books you know your child enjoys.

We will be very happy to answer any questions that you may have this year and aim to write in the home school book as much as possible.

We look forward to seeing what adventures we get up to this year!

IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION

Home School Dairies

We ask families and carers to return the Home School diary each day, as this will enable the class staff to provide comments and information about your child's day in school. If there are particular things you wish to be informed about, please speak with the class teacher. We aim to write in these books at least 3 times per week.

Individual Education Plans

These set out the priority targets that your child is working on for the term; these targets are linked to the overarching targets set out in your child's EHCP. IEPs are updated each half term to the student's needs. If there is anything that you would particular like us to be working on, please just let us know.

Swimming & PE

We will be swimming this Autumn term on a Wednesday afternoon. Each week we ask you to send in your child's swimming kit, including swim pads if appropriate. These will be sent home after each session. PE during spring and summer term will be on a Wednesday. Please send in appropriate PE kit- PE-T-shirt – shorts or joggers/leggings and comfortable shoes, pumps or trainers.

Class Funds

We kindly ask for a voluntary contribution of £1.50 a week towards our class snack funds. You can send your own snack in if you would prefer to do this for your child.
