Enrichment
Enrichment weeks
Our curriculum is enriched throughout the year by a series of themed weeks, which enable us to further deepen learning within specific subjects, topics and whole-school themes. Pupil voice plays an integral role in shaping these experiences, ensuring that pupils are actively involved in their learning and that activities are engaging, inclusive and meaningful.
During the autumn term, pupils take part in Enterprise and Equality & Diversity Week. This week is designed with a strong emphasis on careers, job roles and the value of collaboration to achieve a shared goal. Pupils design, create and market merchandise to be sold at the Christmas fayre. Through this process, they develop creative thinking, independence, teamwork and essential preparation-for-adulthood skills, while gaining a practical insight into enterprise and the world of work.
In the spring term, pupils participate in a themed Arts Week, which provides a rich blend of independent and collaborative opportunities to explore a wide range of artistic disciplines, including music, dance, art and drama. The week is carefully planned to nurture creativity, build confidence and encourage active participation in the arts, allowing pupils to express themselves, experiment with new techniques and celebrate their achievements.
During the summer term, pupils take part in Outdoor Learning Week, an action-packed week centred around outdoor learning activities designed to build fine and gross motor skills while encouraging pupils to use all their senses to enhance learning. This week incorporates our Forest School ethos, providing every child with opportunities to explore the natural environment, strengthen their independence and communication, and experience the wellbeing benefits of learning outdoors. Pupils engage in a wide range of forest school activities delivered by trained staff, alongside whole-school events such as sports day and nature-based exploration tasks. Throughout the week, pupils take part in hands-on experiences that promote teamwork, problem-solving and responsible risk-taking, while also developing practical skills that can be transferred back into the classroom. With access carefully organised to ensure all pupils participate, the week is designed to be fun, engaging and immersive—nurturing confidence, fostering a love of the outdoors and strengthening our school community.
